Newborn portraits are designed for bare bodied sleeping babies. It's essential that you arrive at the studio 30 - 45 minutes before your scheduled session, with a hungry and awake baby. Please keep your baby awake during their journey to the studio. We want your baby TIRED, HUNGRY and CRANKY upon arrival. We know when a baby arrives loudly that it will soon be falling sound asleep!

Less is more, bring them in something that is easy to take off. Being a newborn is pretty much the only time it's acceptable (and precious) to photographed in your birthday suit! Plus, you'll want the focus to be on your baby, not what they're wearing. We have a plethora of props, wraps, hats, bows, and more. Feel free to bring your own, but rest assured that we have lots for you to choose from. We wrap and swaddle them in ways that cover them when necessary.

Of course! However, you must mention this when we call you to book your appointment. We have to schedule additional time so we can photograph your baby by themselves first, and then with their sibling(s).

Once the session has started, your photographer would appreciate no interaction between baby and relatives, unless asked. Babies sense a mothers presence and smell, we may ask you to step out or step back for a portion of your session. Not because we don't want you there, but because we want your baby to be having sweet, sleepy dreams and not wondering where their mom (or milk) is!

Babies sure are magic! Not only can they sense their mothers, but they can sense the energy around them too. It's important for everyone to stay calm and relaxed. Don't worry if your baby is having a moment. Rest assured knowing that we specialize in what we do. We like to consider ourselves The Baby Whisperers. Our Baby Studio is set up to perfectly accommodate your precious newborn. Your baby will be in the hands of professionals who understand their delicate needs and vulnerabilities. We have the knowledge and experience to safely pose your baby in those precious poses we all love. Our experienced photographers have been photographing newborns for over 30 years!

Oops! Don't worry - someone or something may be peed, pooped, or puked on... it happens. Don't feel embarrassed or apologize, babies will be babies! We have plenty of supplies to clean up any accidents and wash our linens, wraps, etc on a regular basis.

• Plan on arriving to the studio 30 - 45 minutes before your scheduled session time.

• Pack and/or lay out everything you need the evening before your session.

• Dress in layers, in case you get warm! Our Baby Studio have individually heated sets, but the entire room is kept warm too. Warm, cozy babies are the key to success!

• We have a plethora of precious props, wraps, hats, and bows - but if there is something specific you'd like included, please be sure to let your photographer know.

• Stay relaxed on your way to the studio and during your session, your baby can sense your emotions and will oftentimes mirror them.

• Embrace the session with an open mind and genuine expectations. Our goal isn't to duplicate someone else's photos but to authentically capture YOUR baby in all their uniqueness.

• Plan a big busy day (parties, playdates, doctor's appointments, etc) the day or morning before your session. Keep things as relaxed as possible for your children.

• Expect your little ones to act perfectly. Sometimes kids don't sit still, get distracted, or don't cooperate - but we know how to use this to our advantage and still get the most perfect shots!

• Worry. We've got this covered. We have everything ready for you and your bundle of joy. We'll be sure to make sure you're prepared by going over everything with you and sending you helpful preparatory materials. We have been the Baby Whisperers for over 30 years after all!
